Donating Games to vNES

In 2008, the vNES team regrouped and restarted this website, only allowing people to play games that we have here at vNES Headquarters. Because of this, we depend now more than ever on the generosity of Players Like You™ to keep vNES running like the well-oiled website it is. Our new method of operation, using only games that we own, creates a legal environment akin to people going down to your local movie rental establishment and renting a movie, or a video game. Because that is allowed under United States copyright law, and the creation and use of backups is as well, we are able to continue our excellent service to the world.

However, in this plan, our hands our tied if we don't have the games in the vNES HQ Warehouse. This is where our users come in. If you have old NES games sitting around, you can send them to us, and then everyone can play them. But, if we've already added all the games you own, or you don't have any NES games, but you have some games for another system lying around, we can trade them in for other NES games that we don't currently have. We can also accept consoles and handhelds as well (we can always use another NES here at HQ for testing.) Also, this plan does extend to Famicom games.

Additionally, for those that request it, you can get prizes for donating your games, if you really want it. If not, we spend that money on buying more games.
